Power Play with model Sin

I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with Sin Yu Chan at her “Styled by me, modelled by me” event at Silkwood Studio. We managed to work through three looks, each with its own different vibe.

The first look focused on contrast. A striking red jacket over a black belted bodysuit. I kept the setup simple, using a white infinity cove and a single light. Black polyboards on either side helped bounce light back onto Sin, giving the shot some shape. I also used the polyboards as a background, they’ve got that nice distressed texture that always brings a bit of edge to an otherwise clean setup.

For the second look, Sin wore a gorge silver reflective jumpsuit with bold panelling and structure. I wanted the light to replicate the panelling of the outfit, so we used an accessorised snoot for sharper, more directional lighting. The images have a strong contrast with the light and shadow, and Sin’s lipstick really cuts through against the simplicity of the look.

The final look was bright, fun and full of 90s energy. Sin styled herself with bold clips and playful accessories. We shot against a pink backdrop and added a reflective surface for mirrored detail and a bit of contrast.

All looks were styled and modelled by Sin herself. Here’s what we created.
